Join us
We are a very friendly group of girls who enjoy our hobby. Everyone is sympathetically taught the rudiments of Barbershop singing, assessed and helped to develop within the Barbershop style, which is quite different to Choral singing. You do not have to be able to read music (obviously it helps if you can) as long as you can sing in tune and hold a note.
If you haven’t sung in public, don’t worry, as the majority of the chorus members had not done so before joining. Just remember we all get nervous.
Audition
We voice test to establish which section of the chorus a singer should be in, which we feel is enough to start them on the road.
It is more difficult without accompaniment of an instrument and a ‘good ear’ is important. We provide both sheet music and a teach tape to take away and learn from.
We offer as much help as the aspiring member needs to get her through our audition system - we do not set impossible tasks!
Rehearsals
Rehearsal night is Monday night from 7.30 p.m. to 10.00 p.m.

Cost of Membership
Membership fee is £2.75 a week, this includes the annual membership fee to LABBS of £33. 00 per annum
